THE YES MAN

Cannot stand letting anybody down, doesn't want to step on any toes, cares too much about what people think, tries to please ever y one even at his own expense if need be, just cannot say no.
You just cannot, I mean it’s totally impossible. You can’t please everyone  even the most loved people of all times were hated and had enemies. The yes man doesn't know how to say no, he doesn't know how to say I’m not happy with what you did. He wants to please. He has no mind of his own and his contribution to any gathering is mostly “yes I concur”.
Is it because he has no self esteem? Or is it some kind of psychological condition? Well I believe God has given us all a bold spirit and a sound mind so dust off that people pleasing streak and start saying no(not to everything oo before you quote and perform as is written but Xavier’s blog readers are smart people I’m sure you get the point).

SUNDAY READ ; FINISHING STRONG

Rising to the top is easy; the hard job is staying on top. Finishing strong, ever wonder how after being good for so long then just one wrong and people will forget all the good you’ve ever done. The Christian race is not so different either.  Matt 24:13 he” that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved”. The word endure never goes with pleasant things, I mean you never hear “ I’m just enduring this nice meal and boat cruise” rather endurance has to do with unpleasant things, tells us we are not  in for a pleasure ride.

Heb 12:1-2 and 1cor 9:24-27 give us a clear guide on how to run this race; control the flesh, run with a purpose and above all set apart from sin.

TOM BOIZ

Okay for those of us who do not know the meaning of the word I’m sure you've at one time seen or heard of girls that are always trying to look and act like the male folk. Yea tom boys that's what we call them, I know a little girl just about 14 years, a down to earth or should I say a natural tom boy. She finds no joy at all in girl stuff and not so surprisingly is very good at guys stuff. Games for example, just last week she beat me twice at table tennis (shame on me) and I hear she’s good with a ball on foot too. The way she dresses (just like her “specie”) it’s like wearing a dress is taboo even her hair cut (more razz compared to mine). So am left wandering is it some kind of feminine mutation? #lmao# or is it something that preferentially appeals to them (the said “specie”) or is it out of influence, does it have a psychological explanation or is it just some random thing that happens purely by chance?
Some people believe that individual difference is what is at play here and people have the right to express themselves the best way they know how to. Now the famous psychologist Alfred Adler called tom boys “girls going on a masculine protest”. He asserts that most of the extreme ones may go ahead to become lesbians just to subconsciously prove a point or should I say “never bow to masculinity”.
 Well If Adler is right, my only question is what do we then say sissy boys are trying to prove? That girls are not the only ones who can cat walk? Going on a feminine protest? #lol#

THAT OLD MAN IN YOUR VILLAGE.....

#lol# yea that old man must die….hehehe  my Naija  people, you failed your exams, you lost a loved one, your car keeps getting spoilt, you are sick, you are still single, etc. it’s all the doings of one old man or woman in your village oh yes that wicked old uncle or great-aunt. That wicked man that hates you so much for no reason and is frustrating you diabolically. #lol#
Yes we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil and yes people will hate you for no reason and some will seek out diabolical means to frustrate you but haba haba haba. We now accuse the devil and "the old man" of things they have no idea about, we attach diabolic interpretations to things we cause ourselves, you eat too much sugar and when diabetes comes it’s the “man In the village”, you are ill mannered and still single instead of changing yourself you blame “the man in the village”, you don’t go for check up in a hospital and remain ignorant of the hepatitis B in your body, you slump one day and oh yes you guessed right it’s the doing of “the old man in the village”. If your thinking still follows the described pattern then you need help, help that only you can provide. Now this is not to say we should become ignorant or blunt in our spiritual ways but common search yourself first when unpleasant things happen, don’t be too quick to give a diabolical meaning to it. We have advanced well in medical sciences (knowledge is from God), change those foul characters and let the man in the village be in peace.

IF GOD ACTUALLY LOVES US LIKE HE SAYS HE DOES.......

I know am not alone in this thought. If God truly loves us as he claims he does why doesn't he just pull us up to heaven? I mean he’s all powerful isn't he? And nothing is impossible for him so am pretty sure it won’t cost him a thing to do it, I mean I’m not God but if I were him and I loved the world as he does I’d do just that. Why do some of us have to go to hell? In fact why did he allow Adam and eve do what they did in the first place? Or should I say why did he create the tree they ate from? Why not just keep the knowledge in something better than a fruit? Somewhere they will never go near. I mean he knows the end of a thing from the beginning so he must have known the serpent will cause them to fall.
Popular answers will tell us that it’s his unsearchable ways. The “mystery of God”, well he’s my father and my friend and just as his word says he will not hide stuff from us. The above questions and more have long bothered my mind and I was so relieved when I got an answer.
CHOICE
If I told you I will take you shopping for anything you wanted and we arrive at a shop where only black colored nokia c3 are sold and then said “choose whatever you want” you know that ain't choice. Choice is taking you to place where all sorts of phones are sold, I mean all sorts; the beautiful, the ugly, diff colors and shapes, the chincos, the fairly used, the virus infected, the out of date, the ones in trend even the scraps, i could keep going but I know you get the point now.
Choice is what the most high has given us and in order to do that he has presented us with all the options like his word rightly said “I give you life and death but I’d rather you choose life”. He created us for the purpose of worship, worship not praise. I can mock-praise a person or praise just for favor done but worship comes from willingness, from the heart. He wants worship and so he created us, and to get that worship he can’t force us and thus he presents us with all he options.

NIGERIAN PARENTS AND PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AFFECTION

Ever saw your dad kiss your mum? That’s even too much, have you seen them hug each other? Now I mean just out of affection not as a joke or maybe as requested in a public function. I've thought about this and I know other people do too. The other day I listened to a joke and the comedian was like yankee parents say goodnight before they fall asleep but a naija man will simply sluggishly say to his wife “are you sure the doors  and windows are closed?”. Funny, but true. In fact how many parents tell their kids they love them?  Most parents stop kissing their kids once they turn 7. We hear the funny names naija women and men call their spouses (#women will say# my oga,papachibuzor,daddy,etc).
these little shows of affection actually go a long way to make us able to love people in return and easily at that. It also helps esteem and self-confidence and like a goon friend of mine will say it will avert midlife crisis #lol#. I mean imagine if these bh boiz, bus park  touts(agbero) had someone who kissed them good night or a father who tells them he loves them, I mean look at our girls if only they've heard “I love you” a lot of times it wouldn't become a snare to them.
Guys yes it is true we love but let us show it and let it start with this generation.
